We meticulously select only the finest raw materials to ensure the lasting beauty, integrity, and intrinsic value of our designs. Our creations proudly feature a choice of 18k yellow, rose, and white gold, offering a spectrum of timeless elegance to suit every preference. We are also committed to accessible luxury, and many of our designs come with the option to order them in gold vermeil. This means that a thick, 2.5-3.5 micron layer of 18k gold is meticulously applied to 925 sterling silver, creating a durable and radiant finish that, with proper care, can last up to 10 years. This meticulous attention to material quality guarantees that each Leïlïaani piece is as enduring as it is beautiful, embodying the profound legacy and artistry it represents.

WHY WE USE GOLD VERMEIL INSTEAD OF GOLD PLATING?

We’ve made a deliberate choice to use gold vermeil over standard gold plating, and for good reason. Gold plating, by industry standard, typically involves a very thin gold layer, often as little as 0.5 µm, and sometimes even just 0.3 µm. This minimal thickness means the gold fades very quickly, lasting only a few months to a year. Furthermore, the base metal used in gold-plated items is often made of cheaper materials like copper, nickel, or brass, which can cause severe skin irritation, allergies, and even skin discoloration.

Our gold vermeil, on the other hand, offers a significantly superior experience. The outside layer of 18k gold is substantially thicker, ranging between 2.5 µm and 3.5 µm. We use 925 sterling silver as the base metal, not cheaper alternatives. This combination dramatically reduces the likelihood of skin allergies, irritation, or discoloration. With proper care, our gold vermeil layer will maintain its beauty and luster for 3 to 10 years, offering a truly lasting and luxurious experience.
