Born in Estonia, a small country nestled in Northern Europe, Anne-Marie grew up feeling both connected and distant from her heritage. “I never quite felt like I belonged,” she reflects softly. “My mother’s Estonian lineage and my father’s mixed Estonian, Russian, and German heritage represented contrasting worlds. Estonian culture, with its quiet reserve and understated elegance, often clashed with the bold expressiveness of Russian tradition.”

These contrasting cultural influences shaped Anne-Marie’s unique perspective, guiding her on a path of self-exploration. Despite feeling out of place, these experiences gave her the insight that, at our core, we all share the same yearning for acceptance, love, and inner beauty.

Travel became her teacher, revealing the common thread of humanity—our collective longing for beauty, love, and belonging. “Traveling opened my eyes to the vastness of the world, but also to the deep similarities that unite us all. Everywhere I went, I saw the same desire for connection, for meaning, for inner peace,” she explains.

Her journey through the travel industry offered not only worldly experiences but also a deeper understanding of her own identity. “I began to dream bigger, to see that my unique perspective could make a difference. I wanted to inspire women to embrace who they truly are, to step into their own light, and to feel that they, too, are worthy of love, beauty, and abundance.”

FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT

In 2019, after facing profound personal and financial challenges, Anne-Marie experienced what she calls a “dark night of the soul.” As a single mother, the weight of adversity became overwhelming. “I felt lost, as if my life had no clear meaning. But in those dark moments, I began to search within. I sought answers in spirituality, in nature, and in the simple joys that had always comforted me.”
Through this hardship, she sought answers and found strength. “I realized that everything I needed was within me. I spent years learning, exploring, and, ultimately, reconnecting with myself.
”It was during a conversation with her daughter that the seeds of Leïlïaani were sown. “We talked about the things that have always brought me joy—flowers, perfumes, and gemstones. I realized that these elements held the power to heal, uplift, and transform. And that’s how Leïlïaani was born—out of a deep desire to share that transformative power with others.”

THE POWER OF AUTHENTICITY

Anne-Marie’s love for perfumes and gemstones wasn’t just a spassion; it was an expression of her soul. “Growing up, I always had a deep connection to nature—the scent of flowers, the beauty of natural stones. These were my refuge, my way of creating a world filled with peace and joy.” Her childhood memories of walking through the woods, flower fields, and along beaches with her father, collecting rocks and colorful sea glass, became the foundation for her vision.
As an adult, Anne-Marie realized that perfume was more than just a scent. It was a form of self-expression, a way to shape her own emotional landscape. “Perfume was like a shield for me, a way to create my own atmosphere of calm, courage, or joy. It became my personal ritual.” Despite feeling pressured to fit in with societal norms, she chose to embrace her bold, vibrant style. “People would ask why I wore so much perfume or why I dressed in bright colors. But I realized that dimming my light wasn’t the answer. I had to honor who I truly was.”
